Supporting Pregnancy Problem House

Supporting Pregnancy Problem House

In June, we have a few initiatives at church to support Pregnancy Problem House. Pregnancy Problem House works with women and couples experiencing stress due to an unintended or unsupported pregnancy,  or who have experienced pregnancy loss or trauma. They offer a non-judgemental counselling to help women navigate this time, as well as offering practical support and care. Our Women’s Ministry has prepared gift hampers for new mothers at previous events.

1) Donating Food Items
Some women who come to Pregnancy Problem House don’t have basic food items for themselves or their families. Currently, the organisation has an empty foodbank, which we would like to help remedy. Donations of the following items would be of great help to meet some of their immediate needs:

  • Pasta/pasta sauce
  • School lunch box snacks
  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Biscuits
  • Cooking oil
  • Tea/coffee/hot chocolate
  • Long-life milk
  • Tinned fruit
  • Tinned meat/fish
  • Tinned beans/tomatoes/soup
  • Spray & wipe cleaner
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Sponges
  • Toilet cleaner
  • Laundry powder

*Items to be donated can be dropped off at church at the weekend services on 24 & 25 June.

2) Purchasing Child Car Seats
Another way to support them is through the purchase of new car seats. Pregnancy Problem House is not permitted to pass on second-hand car seats and therefore relies on donations of new car seats. However, these critical items are expensive and often out of reach for struggling women or couples. One of the hardest to source items is car seats to ensure safe travel for these precious newborn babies.

Please prayerfully consider whether you or your small group could help purchase or contribute towards purchasing a car seat.
